We are the Borg...
Resistance is futile...
You shall be assimilated...
my daughter just called me and said to look up at the sky to the left of the moon.
there were two huge red glowing areas in the sky.
the weather is clear with no clouds.
We are the Borg...
Resistance is futile...
You shall be assimilated...
recently, i was taking part in a discussion about women and how a lot of the ideas about women came from the bible.
as we discussed this, it seemed most of the stories were negative, with the only exceptions being ruth and esther.
negative references include references to eve, jezabel, deliah, divorced women, widows, and lot's wife, were fairly frequent.
Gal 4:26
But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
Sorry, couldn't resist!!

of course you do.
apostates hate everything, even puppies.
Apostatebuster,
Unlike yourself, very few here hate just because we are told to.
Dan
why won't you let me help you?
you have been deceived!!!
it's not too late.
I'm not sure that this is Fred. Nortice the correct spelling on numerous words with more than 4 letters:
pillaged
murdered
centuries
butchered
tortured
Catholics
naturally
impressive
Maybe Fred's other personality actually finished grade school?

with their chronology in tatters, jehovah's witnesses have taken to preaching about their favorite subject: themselves.
i was taken to task when i made this suggestion in a thread not too long ago, but the october km furnishes abundant evidence in its list of available videocasette.. (as an aside, it seems that the society no longer objects to using the television as a medium to spread its message, now that technology's given it a way to make the viewer pay for tapes, rather than having to spend money on paid programming).. notice the titles: .
``united by divine teaching''.
Prince,
My comments were not directed at you (hence the post did not start by addressing you). It was a general comment on how reading between the lines is a feeble excuse for interpreting things any way you wish, and how the WT has been guilty of this over the years. I'm very suspicious of anyone, including you, who has to tell me to read between the lines.
By the way, I did read your post, and I guess because you state that your argument is self-evident, I have to accept it, right?
Obviously, in this modern age of thinking, informed individuals, one can clearly see that you are correct. (sarcasm definitely intended!)

"you only need to read between the lines as you get along."
It's amazing what you can find between those "lines", isn't it? Maybe thinking like that is why the JWs have had all these problems over the years. Where exactly between the lines was aluminum condemned by God? How about those dinosaurs wandering hppily on the surface of Venus? Where exactly between the lines can I find that? Shall I continue?...

even though i've been in the truth for 28 years the thought of the great tribulation eluded me.
not in an effort to evade or escape what i was thought was a reality just understanding or grasping the concept seemed... i typed the word "nightmare" on msnbc's word search, facing the pure horrifying precision, i came to realize the obviousness of the truth.
the party days are over.. .
What exactly are you saying? The GT has started? Could you clarify your point, maybe in a single paragraph.
Thanks
Dan
it seems to me this site is full of anti jehovah's witness members.its easy to point out weaknesses of others or the organization they represent.jehovah's witnesses do often with other religions.if you all have decided that jehovah's witnesses are bad people or that the organization is false, then which one is the true religion?which religion teaches the correct doctrines?which religion represents gods truth?this question is for anyone.i'm asking this question with sincerity.

Deadly,
"I'm not sure what congregation you belonged to but I personally have never felt obligated to contribute any moneys to the hall"
I'm glad to hear that those continual articles about giving didn't sink in. And the numerous talks about supporting the donation arrangement fell on deaf ears. Good for you.
"Further more your comment about me claiming to be an expert on the subject is false so get some eyeglasses.I never claimed to be an expert on the religion.I only gave my honest opinion."
So why qualify your post here by stating how long you were (are) a JW? You stated how long you were a JW then proceeded to list your "facts". Why did you feel the "7 years" was necessary? So we would take you more seriously?
"As much as I do not agree with your statements "
Which statements do you disagree with?
"Individuals make mistakes in "every religious group"."
Finally something we agree on. But I have a problem with a group who in one breate tells you that what they tell you comes directly from God (yes, I was told this by a committee of Elders) but when their errors are exposed, now they're just imperfect men. This double standard sickens me.

Done it a long time ago.

unfortunately my 3 nieces are getting baptized tomorrow.
my dad called me to tell me how proud he was of his grandchildren.
i felt a sick feeling come over me, followed by rising anger.
Unfortunately my 3 nieces are getting baptized tomorrow. My dad called me to tell me how proud he was of his grandchildren. I felt a sick feeling come over me, followed by rising anger. But, out of respect for my father, I just quickly changed the subject. I know there is nothing I can do to stop it, but still...
So today I ordered my third copy of In Search of Christian Freedom. I have lent the other two out to "friends" who, in both cases, decided not only to stay away from me, but they kept my books too. So here is my plan: I will place this book in a conspicuous place in my home. When (if) they come over, maybe their curiosity will cause them to pick it up and look at it. Any other actions on my part toward them will cause a serious rift in our family. So far, my parents have not bought into the practice of shunning me (I'm neither Df'd or Da'd)But if I dare to take the initiative to help my nieces see the real truth, well, that will be the last straw (in their eyes).
